The European H2020 project “ESPREssO” aims to contribute to a new strategic vision for the reduction of natural risks and adaptation to climate change, thus opening new frontiers to research and territorial governance policies.
To achieve this objective, the project intends to identify new strategies by moving along three main directions:
• Integration of the themes of adaptation to climate change within the broader theme relating to the reduction of natural risks;
• Greater integration between the world of research and the legislative and territorial governance world on the issues of natural risk reduction;
• More efficient management of catastrophic events affecting neighboring nations.
The final objective of the project is to develop European guidelines for the management of natural risks and a vision for future strategies and to better define research priorities, consistently with the Sendai Agreement 2015-2030, on the reduction the risks of natural disasters.
